Returns and Exchanges
EXCHANGES
Tickets are sold as non-refundable and will become void if re-sold.
Strictly subject to availability, and at the discretion of the Box Office staff, we may be able to exchange tickets for another performance of the same production provided we are given at least 48 hours’ notice before the performance. We will charge a £1 administrative fee per ticket (capped at £5) for the service; this applies if exchanging tickets to credit. If the customer is a Friend or Good Friend, this fee is waived.
QUEUING FOR RETURNS
The Royal Court operates an in-person waiting list for returns from 90 minutes before the performance is due to start.
(Although we will not begin the list until 90 mins before the show is due to start, we will honour any queue that forms in our foyer beforehand, so for popular shows it may be advisable to arrive early.)
Customers on the list can wait for up to 2 tickets each.
We cannot offer any guarantee that customers who join the waiting list will be successful in obtaining tickets. We are reliant upon other customers returning their unwanted tickets, which does not happen for every performance. Neither can we advise on any pattern to returned tickets.
Please note that all returned tickets will be sold at full price, at their original face value; we will not be able to offer concessions or honour any discounts/promotions on returned seats.
Further options for booking tickets to sold out performances include Monday tickets, released on the day of the performance, and standing places for productions in the Jerwood Theatre Downstairs, which will be released one hour before every performance.
RETURNING TICKETS
If an event has sold out we are happy to try and re-sell your tickets once we have sold all of our own available tickets, including any reserved or last minute holds we may have. Please note that we can never guarantee the re-sale of your tickets.
If they are re-sold, you will be refunded to credit, which is attached to your customer record and can be spent on future tickets and merchandise at the Royal Court. This credit must be spent within 12 months of receipt.
Tickets cannot be refunded unless a performance is cancelled. In the event of a cancelled performance, patrons will first be offered the opportunity to exchange for another performance; if there are no alternative tickets or if the patron is not able to attend an alternative performance the full purchase cost of the ticket will be refunded via the original payment method.
The Royal Court reserves the right to make alterations to the advertised programme, casting or schedule at any time and without advance notice. The Royal Court does not have understudies and so it may be necessary to cancel a performance at short notice due to cast indisposition. For this reason please ensure the Box Office has your correct contact details.
Please check your tickets and confirmation email carefully as mistakes cannot be rectified at a later date.
