Other Ways to Support

Each year, we need to raise £1.5 million in addition to our Arts Council England core grant and ticket sales to support the following areas:

ON STAGE – We programme bold new work and have helped to launch the careers of the world’s leading playwrights.  

WRITER DEVELOPMENT – Each year, we read over 2,500 scripts and nurture hundreds of writers through our renowned writer development programmes, commissions and residencies. 

INTERNATIONAL – We forge relationships with artists from across the globe, working in different languages and cultural contexts, from Mexico and the Caribbean to Tokyo and Iraq. 

COMMUNITY – We believe that everybody is a writer. We collaborate with organisations and local schools to empower the next generation of theatre makers.
