Lynne Gagliano Writers Award: open call for writers aged 18-25.

This Award will support a young writer aged 18 – 25, to undertake a paid writing assignment and create a new piece of work with the Royal Court Theatre.

The recipient of this award will be attached to the Royal Court for a year, be assigned a mentor, receive free theatre tickets and engage with Royal Court Participation projects.

Once applications are re-opened, you can apply by submitting a 10-page sample of a full-length play.

This award is open to writers of all levels of experience aged 18-25. The Royal Court are specifically looking for writers who perceive that there are barriers to getting their work developed and produced in theatre due to class, disability, education, ethnicity, gender identity, geography or any other barrier.

The ethos of the Lynne Gagliano Writers Award is based on the founding principles of Young Court as envisioned by Lynne Gagliano and a continuation of her invaluable legacy.

The 2020 Lynne Gagliano Writers Award recipient is Tife Kusoro.
